About

Bangor University is seeking a supplier for a high-throughput, low-volume real-time PCR system for its national wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) laboratory within the School of Environmental and Natural Sciences in Wales. The system must measure a large number of samples against a large number of assays in a single run (a sample × assay matrix) and deliver quantitative data of a quality suitable for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited reporting. The aims are to substantially increase the number of targets measured per sample without loss of quantitative performance, reduce hands-on time, plate handling and per-result reagent cost, shorten time from nucleic acid extract to reported result, provide a flexible open platform to absorb new targets quickly, and maintain or improve the data integrity and traceability needed for accreditation; the laboratory conducts routine surveillance of pathogens, antimicrobial resistance genes and other public-health markers in wastewater and supports related environmental microbiology and One Health research.
