Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council is seeking a consultant to deliver an independent evaluation of the Lost Peatlands Connections (LPC) landscape-scale project in the upland areas and four valleys of Neath Port Talbot and Rhondda Cynon Taf, assessing environmental outcomes (habitat restoration, biodiversity, climate resilience), community engagement (education, volunteering, wellbeing), cultural heritage impact (skills, storytelling, digital engagement) and organisational sustainability in line with National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) evaluation guidance. The predominantly desk-based contract (scheduled December 2026–July 2029) requires three reports—Preliminary (March 2027), Mid-Term (April 2028) and Final (August 2029)—with stakeholder interviews in the mid-term and final phases, regular virtual or office meetings, occasional site visits if needed, adherence to GDPR and Welsh Language Standards, provision of the final report in English and Welsh, and a maximum budget of £35,175 excluding VAT; monitoring data will be provided in a structured format and the consultant is not expected to digitise raw paper records.
