About

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a supplier for operation and maintenance of landfill gas and leachate management systems at the Corby Closed Landfill on the northern outskirts of Corby. The landfill covers approximately 13 hectares and contains an estimated 1.4Mm3 of waste to a depth of around 16 metres; the buried waste produces landfill gas and leachate. The site has no impermeable containment and is considered a "dilute and disperse" site. This procurement will enable the Council to continue to fulfil its statutory obligations under Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and remain compliant with the site’s Environmental Permit and Trade Effluent Consent.
