Tender: RSPB Cymru Peatland Restoration – Berwyn SSSI (south of Llangollen) 2026–2027

RSPB Cymru is seeking a contractor to deliver peatland restoration works on a privately owned site south of Llangollen that forms part of the Berwyn SSSI, SPA and SAC and is designated in part for blanket bog habitats. The contractor will work to raise water tables across the blanket bog by blocking drainage ditches, gullies and peat pipes with peat dams, reprofiling hags and constructing low contour bunds, with peat dam repair identified as the most common task. Historic management has left the site extremely heather dominated, so a careful, methodical contractor is required to ensure all features are blocked in the area of works for this winter.
