Tender: Stray Dog Collection and Kennelling Services – Lewes & Eastbourne (East Sussex Only)

Lewes & Eastbourne Councils are seeking a supplier for stray dog collection and kennelling services to collect and detain stray dogs across their districts. The councils have a statutory duty under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to collect and detain stray dogs, and a duty under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2007 to collect dogs brought to a nominated collection point outside normal core council opening hours. The contract covers the whole geographic area of Lewes and Eastbourne Councils and requires providers to be prepared to deliver the service year-round at the rates they submit. Only contractors based in East Sussex may apply, a restriction made under Article 3(3) of the 2026 Order which defines the local area for this procurement as East Sussex.
