A main works contractor is sought to deliver decarbonisation and comfort improvement works at the Grade II listed Bonner Mile End Primary School in Mile End, London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The project addresses significant thermal discomfort—overheating in summer and insufficient heating in winter—and replacement of end-of-life boilers. The overall goal is to decarbonise the school's heating technology within the available finance while maximising additional interventions to reduce energy bills, improve the internal environment for a more comfortable learning setting, and calculate carbon and energy usage reductions. Key priorities include moving to decarbonised heat, reducing energy bills, staying within budget, consulting the school's senior leadership on key design and delivery decisions, interrogating interventions holistically to avoid issues such as mold, and delivering the contractor-designed portion and mobilisation within the programme. The Contract Period is 24 months and includes a 12-month retention/maintenance period to be agreed with the successful contractor.
