About

Armagh City, Banbridge And Craigavon Borough Council is seeking a contractor to eradicate all scrub from an approximately 20 ha designated control area within Selshion ASSI, funded by the PEAT+ project administered by the Special EU Programmes Body. The contract's primary objective is the targeted eradication and containment of invasive native scrub, predominantly Birch (Betula spp. and hybrids), within the designated scrub control zones to protect, preserve and enhance the open Sphagnum/fen carpets and active cutover peatland features. All operational activities must strictly prevent ground disturbance, peat compaction, hydrological disruption, or chemical contamination, and all work must be carried out between November and 26th February inclusive to avoid the bird breeding season and minimise ecological impacts.
