About

The University of Bath is seeking a supplier for an experienced engineering contractor to design and deliver a solution to merge two adjacent district-heating networks. The project will join DH1 (8 MW installed heating capacity serving 14 buildings) and DH2 (1.5 MW installed heating capacity serving 7 buildings) into a single operating network using DH1 as the main energy centre. The opportunity comprises two stages: Engineering Development (investigations, design and development of the proposed solution, programme and installation costs) and Engineering Delivery (installation, testing and commissioning of the agreed solution, subject to University approval). The University will follow a Competitive Flexible Procedure including an initial Expression of Interest, supplier shortlisting, a Request for Information and a subsequent competitive tender, with installation planned to begin in July 2027.
